The Pearl Poet - The "Pearl Poet", or the "Gawain Poet", is the name given to the author of Pearl, an alliterative poem written in Middle English. Its author appears also to have been the author of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Patience, and Cleanness; "he" may also have composed Saint Erkenwald.
Ambrose the poet - Ambrose (around 1190), Norman poet, and chronicler of the Third Crusade, author of a work called L'Estoire de la guerre sainte, which describes in rhyming French verse the adventures of Richard Coeur de Lion as a crusader.
