Physicalism - Physicalism is the metaphysical position (associated particularly with Quine) that everything is physical; that is, that there are no kinds of things other than physical things. Likewise, physicalism about the mental is a position in philosophy of mind which holds that the mind is a physical thing in some sense.

Frank Cameron Jackson - Frank Cameron Jackson (born 1943) is a professor of philosophy at the Australian National University. Jackson is well-known within philosophy for his paper "Epiphenomenal Qualia", in which he presents an argument against physicalism, the thesis that everything supervenes on the kinds of entities postulated in physics.
Identity theory of mind - The identity theory of mind, or type physicalism, holds that the mind is identical to the brain. Type physicalists identify pain and suffering as neural excitations, not as ghostly mental activities.
