Literary language - A literary language is a register of a language that is used in writing, and which often differs in lexicon and syntax from the language used in speech. In some languages, such as Tamil, the difference is so extreme that the language exhibits diglossia.

Võro language - The Võro language (võro kiil) is a language belonging to the Finnic branch of the Finno-Ugric languages. It is officially considered a dialect of Estonian, but has it's own literary language and is in search of official recognition as an autochthonous regional language of Estonia.

Kawi language - Kawi (from Sanskrit: kāvya, "poet") is a language from the islands of Java, Bali and Lombok. It is actually a literary language based on Old Javanese, but heavily interlarded with Sanskrit loanwords.

History of the Scots language - The history of the Scots language goes back at least six and a half centuries, to when Lowland Scots (then called Inglis) began to appear in literary form. Not until the late 15th century did it take the name Scottis (=Scots), which had been used previously to refer to Goidelic language.
