Grade inflation - In education, grade inflation occurs where a certain grade comes to represent a lower level of student performance than is indicated by the grade, in situations where student performance is determined by some fixed, non-grade form of assessment.

Eights System - The Eights System is the informal name for one of the three most common grading scales used at educational institutions in the United States. It has gained increasing popularity in recent years, largely in response to the phenomenon known as grade inflation.

Grade 12 Plus - In Ontario, Canada "Grade 12+" is a term often given to 12th grade students who return for a second year of Grade 12 instead of immediatly enrolling in post-secondary education. This is widely seen as a result of the elimination of the OAC (Grade 13) year.
