Text figures - In typography, text figures (sometimes called old-style, hanging, non-lining, minuscule, elzeviran or medieval figures, numerals, or digits) are a style of Hindu-Arabic numerals designed for visual harmony with running text. Today, numerals are usually typeset as lining figures (also called ranging figures, or majuscule numerals), which have a consistent height and no descenders.
