Biogeochemical cycle - In ecology, a biogeochemical cycle is a circuit or pathway by which a chemical element or molecule moves through both biotic ("bio-") and abiotic ("geo-") compartments of an ecosystem. In effect, the element is recycled, although in some such cycles there may be places (called "sinks") where the element is accumulated or held for a long period of time.

Hydrogen cycle - Hydrogen is one of the constituents of water. It recycles as in other biogeochemical cycles.

Carbon cycle - The carbon cycle is the biogeochemical cycle by which carbon is exchanged between the biosphere, geosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere of the Earth. (Other bodies may have carbon cycles, but little is known about them.

Sulfur cycle - Sulfur is one of the constituents of many proteins and vitamins and hormones. It recycles like other biogeochemical cycles.
